Amber's Journal

Day 7:

Today our inner children came out to play!  We visited the Steiff museum.  I hadn’t expected to really like this tour—I expected to see a lot of sewing machines and machinery stuffing toys, and then to shuffle off to the gift shop.  Wow, this was a great tour!  We went through amazing exhibits of the most wonderful toys—giant elephants, bears large enough to sit on, underwater landscapes, polar regions, and toys frisking in the most imaginative and happy ways!  I could have stayed in there a week playing like a kid on the giant snake slide! Wheeee!

After that, we were introduced to our local guide Michael.  He led us on a walking tour of Munchen/Munich describing the local Wittelsbach lords, and making some of our tour various princes and members of the nobility as he described them.  Throughout the rest of the tour, our guide referred to David and the other “German nobility” by their titles!  (Probably easier than remembering their names, but still really amusing!) David got to be one of the Wittlesbach princes, the one who ousted the founder of Munich I believe.
