Amber's Journal - Day 3:

Today as predicted...we had a great time! Today was our visit to Delphi, so bright and early we piled on the motorcoach to roar across the Greek countryside. I enjoyed seeing the country as I did not like much of Athens--more modern than I was expecting, too like LA, too full of grafitti and motorcycle shops! But Delphi...is amazing. It's tucked away on a very high hilltop far away from anything. There were far fewer crowds here which was very welcome and a lovely intimate feel to the ruins of Delphi. After touring the ruins we saw the Delphi museum and I found the Charioteer to be an amazing work of art--it truly is lifelike to the point it wouldn't be shocking for it to move! We also had a gigantic lunch in the village of Delphi which is nearby--the food was wonderful! Tomato fritters, cheese pies, olives, chicken, pork...nothing could be missed and it just kept coming! I don't think many of us ate dinner that night...who needed to? We'd eaten a meal fit for gods!
