Vacation 2012 (Part 2)

14-day Hawaiian Cruise on the Disney Wonder

Our second vacation 2012 was a 14 day cruise on the Disney Wonder over to the Hawaiian Islands.  We spent 4 days at sea, then a day each at Maui, Kauai, Oahu, and Hawaii (big island), followed by 4 more days at sea, then a day in Ensenada, and then another day to get back home.

Interesting fact about cruise ships, if they are not registered in the US, they can't make all US ports during a sailing.  It's illegal.  The Disney Wonder is registered in Nassau, Bahamas.  So legally it must stop at an international port, ergo our stop in Ensenada.  If you want to read more, click here.

All of the daily journals are arranged that the top half are David's pictures and the bottom half are Amber's pictures.

1st Port - Maui

1st Port - Maui

On the 6th day of our cruise we arrive in Maui.  Where we take an excursion to snorkel and watch the sunset on board a sail boat.

Day 2: Ancient Athens

2nd Port - Kauai

On the 7th day of our cruise we arrive in Kauai.  For Kauai we decided to not take a Disney excursion but instead we planned a SCUBA trip on our own.  The SCUBA diving in Kauai is fantastic.  Unfortunately we both had camera issues, and our cameras fogged up.  (Yes, I know why.  No, I don't need advice on how to keep it happening.)

Day 3: The Oracle's Lore

3rd Port - Oahu

On the 8th day we had originally planned to do another day of diving in Oahu, but after a full day of snorkeling followed by a full day of SCUBA diving, I wasn't up to a 3rd day of water activity.  So we rescheduled an instead went to Pearl Harbor to see the museum and Arizona exhibit.  We then took a tour of several WW2 historical sites around the island.

Day 4: Soarin' Over Santorini

4th Port - Hawaii (big island)

On the 9th day we went zip lining.  Given that both of us are afraid of heights, this was the one we were nervous about.  IT WAS AWESOME!  Zip lining is a lot of fun.  There were 7 lines in all, each line longer than the last, with the final one being over 1600 feet long.

Day 5: Cruisin' The Caldera

5th Port - Ensenada

On the 13th day of the cruise we arrived in Ensenada, Mexico.  Here we spent the day horseback riding on some hills overlooking the harbor.

Day 6: Minoan Muses

On Ship

Since we spent a lot of time on board the ship during this cruise, this is a collection of pictures taken while on board.
